Week Zero: Anticipation

As winter break comes to a close, so too does leisure times spent with family and friends. This semester will undoubtedly impact who I am as a person and an educator.
Who are my students? What does the classroom look like? What are my students learning about? The nerves of the unknown are present, but are counterbalanced by the excitement of meeting students, my mentor teacher, and planning activities. I believe that this experience will be largely determined by the mindset that each day is approached with. For that reason, I have decided to look forward to each day and building relationships with students. I am in the process of prepping "getting to know you activities" for this first week, which will hopefully provide a fun and engaging way for myself to integrate into a new classroom's culture.
I am looking forward to leading activities, getting to know students, and having a fun first week!
With happiness,
Miss K
